Environmental Expertise: The Asbestos Diagnostics

Did you know? 90% of buildings constructed in Switzerland contain asbestos.

Asbestos fibers offer exceptional qualities of resistance to heat, electrical and chemical attacks as well as to tension. They were thus abundantly used in 20th century construction in French-speaking Switzerland as well as elsewhere. Asbestos can be found in pipes, ventilation ducts, false ceilings or in some paints. The regulatory directive (FCOS 6503) obliges property owners in Switzerland to deal with the asbestos issue and to render their property safe.

Lamy Expertise operates at every level of the asbestos chain with its AFAQ-ACERT experts.

The asbestos diagnostics: detection of the presence of the component

  • The diagnostics for the purpose of usage (inform users)
  • The pre-construction diagnostics (inform the companies involved)

Monitoring the removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM)

Monitoring by our approved experts of operations to remove asbestos-containing materials (ACM), which are carried out by a specialized company. This check is compulsory.

Measuring Asbestos Fibers in the Air (VDI)

VDI air measurements are prescribed by directive FCOS 6503. The aim is to measure the concentration of asbestos respirable fibers in the air (ARF). This measurement is carried out according to a European standard that the experts at Lamy Expertise perfectly master.
